Excerpt from "I'm Knot Ready"

How bad do you want it? What have you considered doing in order to meet “the one”?
For years we have watched reality shows about single men and women tossing around candidates left and right in an effort to find their forever love. Tell me you haven’t thought about putting in an application for the show, Married at First Sight?   (I didn’t say you did, but you’ve thought about it, haven’t you? Uh huh, I knew it.)
Don’t feel bad, I can absolutely relate. A few years ago when this show came out, you thought about how bold those folks were and how there was no way you would ever do something like that! (At least not on national TV, right?) Then you begin thinking it wouldn’t hurt if you just went ahead and applied for the show. I mean … what’re the odds of you getting matched with someone, anyway? After that, you start to watch more episodes, peek at the website, see the application requirements, find out where the next taping will be and before you know it, BOOM! Maybe you and your friends are standing in line when the show comes to your town.
I remember being similarly skeptical about online dating, and guess where I ended up meeting my man?
Nowadays, online dating is more popular than meeting somebody at the grocery store. Every day thousands of people are on Plenty of Fish, Zoosk, Match and Tinder looking for everything from hookups to lifelong partners.  I’m so glad I paid for my three months on eHarmony, because that’s where I met my boo.
Look, I know you’re tired of the foolishness and just want to be married already. I know you have been thinking about what it would be like to actually meet someone who gets you and wants nothing more than to spend the rest of their life with you. You’ve been preparing for your happily ever after since Cinderella got hers.  Well, throw away the fairy tale books, honey! It’s about to get real.
